Coolhobo announces the appointment of a new member to its Advisory Board. The new appointment is Timothy Leung, who brings his wisdom and expertise in Business & strategic partnership development and team management for technological products & internet services.
“We are very excited to welcome Tim in our advisory board and being able to leverage his business development experience. We’ve been focusing on building our core technology, the next phase will consist of deploying it with various partners and we needed someone with his skills to refine our business model and pricing strategy” stated Loic Kobes.
About Timothy Leung
Timothy has accumulated over 20 years of experience in the Information and Internet field, worked in esteemed companies such as Alibaba, Apple, and PCCW. He retired from his position of the Head of Global Sales and Business Development in Alibaba.com in 2016.
Timothy is strong at strategic planning and hands-on implementation. He had managed direct sales team and channel partners for technology products and internet services. His comprehensive experience in sales, marketing, product development and senior management gives him a holistic view of business strategy.
“I met Tim trying to bring him on board as an investor, but quickly I realized he would bring us more value as an advisor, especially since we don’t have anyone in the team with business development background” declared Loic Kobes.
Timothy Leung added: “China has giants like Tencent and Alibaba – I know the latter very well as I led their global business expansion for 8 years. I understand how fundamental technologies are important for new business models and how they change the world. Coolhobo is targeting a traditional sector with a technology that has the potential to shake up the entire grocery industry and that’s why I decided to join their venture as an advisor”.
Coolhobo is a mobile ARVR shopping app, combining experiences with convenience for shoppers, merging physical and digital worlds for businesses.
The startup uses AR in stores to inform, guide, simplify and reduce efforts while making the shopping experience fun and entertaining, soon social with friends’ product reviews and comments in context. The more shoppers use AR in store, the more accurate becomes the 3D map of the physical store, therefore allowing offline retailers to apply online analytic tools in real-time.
